Coach Adrian Walters is a veteran collegiate basketball leader with more than three decades of coaching and player development experience at the Division I level. Currently serving as the Associate Head Coach at Texas Tech University, Walters has been instrumental in the Lady Raiders ’ resurgence as a national contender. During his tenure, Texas Tech has achieved multiple Top 25 national rankings, advanced to the NCAA tournament, and earned signature victories over Top 10 opponents. Walters has also played a key role in the program’s recruiting success, recruiting the tallest player in NCAA Division 1 women’s basketball. Throughout his career at Auburn, Georgetown, Alabama, Hampton, UNC, and now Texas Tech, Walters has built a reputation as a relentless recruiter, defensive strategist, and post-player development specialist. He has developed more than 25 professional players, including WNBA draft picks and international standouts, and coached numerous All-Americans, All-Conference selections, and Rookies of the Year across the SEC, ACC, BIG 12 and Big East. Beyond X’s and O’s, Walters is widely respected for his leadership, integrity, and unwavering commitment to NCAA compliance.

A former four-year letterman and team captain at Saint Francis University, he brings both player perspective and executive-level administrative experience to every program he serves.

His coaching philosophy emphasizes discipline, preparation, relationship-building, and holistic student-athlete development, fostering excellence both on the court and in life beyond basketball.
